Israeli-born Leonora moved as a baby with her parents to New Jersey and by the age of 5 was already singing her first original song. As a teenager, she took saxophone lessons and played jazz standards, but was also inspired by her Israeli roots. At 19, she found her musical niche and began to showcase her talent as a singer/songwriter in local bars and on small stages.
During her studies in Film & Communication, Leonora founded her own band in 2008. They toured full bars and pubs with a rousing program of pop and rock songs. Their demo recordings were even played on some radio stations in Israel. Success was within reach.
Love finally brought Leonora a step closer to her dream as she followed her German husband to his home country. Here in Germany, she concentrated entirely on her solo career. Successful concerts and self-produced demos eventually led to a collaboration with 9a music.
Leonora is currently working on her new EP and has set out to conquer the music scene with her vibrant, honest and international sound. The new material is a refreshing mix of elements from pop, rock and folk music. Producer is Piotr Siejka, who in his Polish homeland has been behind many successful recordings and recently took charge of the finalists of the Polish “X- Factor” in the studio.
At her concerts Leonora is accompanied on stage by two experienced musicians: Sebastian Ruin (guitar, bass and cello) has, among others, worked in the Ina Deter band as cellist and guitarist and is a much sought-after studio musician. Neil Grant (guitar) was on the road for many years with the folk duo Wayfaring Strangers. Together, the trio offers an exciting and multi-faceted stage programme.
