I was born in England in the south east town of Colchester (for those who are not familiar with the geography of the UK , Colchester lies in the south east (East Anglia) about 80 km from London to the north east and a minutes from the the coast. I am very proud to come from this very historical town. Check it out on the net and you will see why.

During my school years I was interested in Football (of course ) and rugby. I was a first team regular in the school rugby team and it was always good to beat the local rival school! In fact, we never lost against them toffee nosed so and so’s – ha, ha!

I was also very keen in playing for the school band. I actually started playing drums, but I was not that good and I soon found that playing guitar was easier on the neighbours, so that meant I could practice without risking upsetting my otherwise very tolerant neighbours. On leaving school early for an ill fated career in the Royal Navy, I realised what I wanted to do with my life – I wanted to play my guitar. It was all or nothing!

The drifting phase took a turn and I ended up in London where I helped form one of London’s top live acts at the time. I realized that the music scene outside of my own little sphere was very good and for me at least quite scary too. I teamed up with a female drummer from Colchester, Crissy Lee . This girl was not Just a Drummer she was for many people and STILL IS, may I add, a legend. Shame it didn’t work out. I think I was very immature at the time and did not take that good chance too seriously. I guess you could say I blew it. Even though I was way out of my depth, it was for the most part a very very good learning process.

After this I moved to Ireland where I worked with a country rock type of show band, as well as various other projects. I basically saw the whole country dozens of times a year and met some really great people in and outside of the music world.

After numerous tours of mainland Europe, including Spain, France, Germany, Holland and so on, I decided I wanted to move to the USA. So I packed a few socks and my toothbrush and went to West Germany (Stuttgart) for a few weeks holiday, before the most radical move/change in my life to date. Well that holiday has been ongoing since 1989 and I am now based in Germany, currently living on the German -Belgian border with my long-term girlfriend, Inge .

As for the future … we shall see …
